How does AutoGhost detect driving without GPS?
Your phone already has motion sensors — an accelerometer and gyroscope — that detect movement patterns. AutoGhost reads only those signals. GPS is never accessed, ever.
What permissions does AutoGhost need on first install?
Motion & Fitness (for driving detection), Screen Time / Family Controls (for app blocking), and Notifications (so we can let you know about streaks and milestones). Nothing else.
What if I’m a passenger?
One tap tells AutoGhost you’re not the one driving. Your apps unlock immediately. The next drive re-detects normally.
How long does driving detection take?
Usually within 30–60 seconds of the car starting to move. AutoGhost waits long enough to be confident you’re actually driving, not walking or on a bus.

What we store — and don’t
Does my driving data leave my phone?
Never. All drives, streaks, and settings stay encrypted on your device. Nothing syncs to a cloud. Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared.
Can I delete all my data?
Yes — one tap wipes everything from your device. There’s nothing on our servers to delete.
What data do you keep when I join the waitlist?
Only your name, email, and platform (iOS or Android). Stored in Supabase (UK region). Used to email you at launch — nothing else. Delete it any time at autoghost.org/delete-data.
Do you use any third-party trackers or analytics?
No advertising trackers. No user-level analytics in the app. The website uses privacy-respecting page-view analytics only — no cookies, no personal data.
App Blocking

What happens if I need to make a call while driving?
Phone calls, emergency services, and navigation are never blocked. Only apps you deliberately add to your distraction list are shielded.
Which apps can I block?
Any app on your phone that appears in Screen Time — social, video, messaging, games, whatever pulls your attention. Calls and emergency services are always excluded regardless.
How do I change which apps get blocked?
Settings → Manage Blocked Apps. Tick or untick anything, save. Change takes effect on your next drive.
What if I need a blocked app in a real emergency while driving?
Pull over, park, and the block releases within seconds. You can also use the emergency unlock (long-press-hold on the blocked-app screen) if you truly can’t stop.

Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. No credit card required to begin — you only pay if you decide to keep using it after 7 days.
What are the plans and prices?
Monthly is $4.99 (available at launch). Annual $39.99/year and Lifetime $199.99 one-time are coming shortly after launch — waitlist members get notified first.
How do I cancel my subscription?
In Settings → Manage Subscription, or directly in the App Store / Play Store. No dark patterns, no email loops.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google via the App Store / Play Store — reach out to them within 14 days of purchase. If you had a specific issue with AutoGhost, email us and we’ll help.
